Within some of the key strategies are what I call mitigating strategies. Within the strategy of SYSTEMICALLY SEQUENTIAL is DYSREGULATION. Due to the impact of unaddressed trauma, students can become dysregulated, emotionally – what we think of most often – but cognitively, as well. To interrupt the inequities, it is necessary to find ways to show up early with interventions, in order to get the brain back to a regulated state.
