At Every Child Whole, our focus is in support of elementary schools with high needs. Research tells us that poverty is one of the number one indicators of trauma. Trauma, we know interrupts learning. The purpose of the demonstration project is to target the mitigating strategies of a grounded learning environment – interrupting the interrupters, so to speak. Through our research and observation, we have identify three interrupters that must be addressed early in order to mitigate and navigate past the cyclical barriers. They are: DYSREGULATED BRAINS, DISENGAGED PARENTS, and DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS. When courageous leaders supported and working with committed educators address these three, the outcomes are inevitable.
